When big data gets personal…and cloudy

According to IBM, we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data per day. That is a lot of really big data. And big data is getting bigger.

It is becoming even more ubiquitous as our Personally Identifiable Information (PII) not only forms part of it, but also helps to create ties between other information, like marketing data. Big data is spreading, like a slime mold across our web servers, into our mobile apps, and IoT devices; it is everywhere and it represents us, the individual.
