Huawei and Intel said they have jointly completed the first 5G standalone call test based on the latest 3GPP Release-15 specifications from June 2018, thus completing the entire process of the 3GPP Rel-15 protocol.
The two firms said the test was held during the third phase of China’s 5G technology R&D trial organized by China’s IMT-2020 (5G) promotion group, and conducted in the group’s lab.
