The mobile edge computing space is set to receive a boost as Quortus and Applied Computer Solutions said they plan to partner on technology supporting MEC, with plans for a proof of concept demonstration at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event.
Quortus, which is focused on developing core network functions as software applications, and ACS, which offers products and services to telecom operators and enterprises, said the partnership will result in more efficient use of network resources and monetization opportunities; increased network speeds and lower latencies to benefit content distribution; improved IT and infrastructure integration for large enterprises; and greater access to advanced services for smaller enterprises.
